What is a flute choir?

A flute choir is a wind ensemble group made up of all the instruments of the flute family:

  • Piccolo
  • Flute
  • Alto Flute
  • Bass Flute

Due to matters of resources and funding, the uOttawa Flute Choir is currently only comprised of flute and piccolo. However, we hope to be acquiring alto and bass in the future to have a full, complete choir. Currently, we ask that all members have their own instruments in order to be a part of the ensemble.

Depending on the type of repertoire that is played, other instruments such as piano or guitar may act as accompaniment to the choir.
