The University of Ottawa Flute Choir is a non-auditioned flute ensemble founded in 2014. We aim to provide any and all flautists at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, and the surrounding community with the opportunity to indulge in their passion for music and the space to play flute. Whether or not you study music at university, we’d love to have you as part of our group!
As flautists, we are all too familiar with the problem of playing an instrument where there are always far too many players with far too few places open. We hope to change this with having this group and give everyone the chance to be able to play and be a part of the ensemble.
We are a diverse group of students from all different years and faculties with different backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels with flute. We aim to make this an inclusive space where everyone can feel welcome and benefit from a supportive and fun environment but also learn from playing in an ensemble setting.
Note that we are a registered SFUO club that is not affiliated with the School of Music at uOttawa.
